About

I lead humanitarian cash and social-protection programmes: designing the delivery, wrangling the supply chain, and building the monitoring that proves it worked. My happiest work happens where a good idea meets a hard logistics problem. I've run programmes for INGOs and UN agencies in Kenya, Somalia and South Sudan — from a refugee camp in Kakuma to a national social-registry pilot. I care about teams that survive their own success, and about getting money to people with dignity and speed.

Emergency cash scale-up, Horn of Africa droughtFeatured

Took an emergency cash pilot from 4,000 to 60,000 households in eight months without a single pipeline break.

Challenge. Drought had outrun in-kind aid across three counties; markets were functioning but families had no liquidity, and the existing pilot was stuck at 4,000 households.

Results. 60,000 households reached; verification time cut from 14 days to 3; 98% of transfers reconciled within the month; zero recorded diversion across two audit cycles.

MEAL system redesign across three country offices

Replaced nine disconnected spreadsheets with one field-to-dashboard data flow.

Challenge. Three country offices reported the same indicators nine different ways, so nobody trusted the numbers and donor reports took weeks.

Results. One Kobo-to-Power BI pipeline; monthly reporting cut from 3 weeks to 4 days; data-quality flags built in at collection.

National social-registry pilot, Turkana

Helped a county government stand up a shock-responsive social registry that could scale in a crisis.

Challenge. Emergency and long-term safety-net caseloads were managed on separate systems, so a drought meant rebuilding targeting from scratch every time.

Results. 42,000 households enrolled; a single registry now used by both the county safety net and emergency top-ups; targeting model adopted by two neighbouring counties.
