The Position:

Working within the Country Office (CO) environment and in close collaboration with the team of Indonesian Ministry of Health, the Programme Associate Midwifery Training will play an instrumental role in facilitating UNFPA's country programme and project implementation, supporting design, planning, implementation, and reporting of donor-funded midwifery projects, particularly Strengthening Professional Education and Enhanced Policy Framework for Midwifery Development in Indonesia (SPEED Indonesia) project funded by KOICA, relating to strengthening training centers for midwives at the health polytechnics and accredited hospital.

Job Purpose:

The Programme Associate Midwifery Training will apply established systems and procedures and assist in the creation of knowledge by compiling, synthesizing and analyzing relevant information, developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with procedures.

You would be responsible for:

  • Providing support in compiling and analyzing information relevant to midwifery to inform project implementation, by compiling and analysing information relevant to midwifery training in health polytechnics and accredited hospital training centers, and drafting work plans of the SPEED project;
  • Supporting analysis of data to ensure proposed midwifery training interventions for health polytechnics and accredited training centers in hospitals meet quality standards outlined in work plans and project documents of the SPEED project.
  • Supporting implementation and monitoring of midwifery training project activities in SPEED project, assisting in tracking progress and contributing to identifying corrective actions as required; participating in field visits; in review meetings, and evaluation missions; and preparing regular inputs to status and progress reports.
  • Guiding routine implementation of assigned projects, in coordination with UNFPA’s SRH programme personnel and Government Implementing Partner, coordinating delivery of projects, including managing project budgets, tracking of expenditures, preparing financial utilization reports and ensuring all financial delivery aligns with donor compliance requirements.
  • Providing  coordination support for advocacy and resource mobilisation efforts of the CO, by establishing and maintaining a network of donor and public information contacts. Assisting with organizing and conducting donor meetings and public information events, including preparing relevant background material for these events, and technical briefs for donor presentations.
  • Providing logistical support to projects by coordinating project-related meetings, workshops and events. Training and guiding project personnel on national execution and programme policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in implementing knowledge management strategies to capture lessons learned and best practices, sharing these with management for future planning.

 

Qualifications and Experience: 

Education:  

  • Completed Secondary Level Education required. A first level university degreee in Medicine or midwifery is desirable.

Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Minimum of seven years relevant work experience in assisting Programme/Project Management in the field of health, midwifery, gender equiality, or other relevant fields.
  • Experience in working with various stakeholders, including government, NGOs
  • Experience in working with UN agencies is desirable
  • Proficiency in current office software application and corporate IT systems

Languages: 

  • Fluency in verbal and written English and Indonesian

Compensation and Benefits:
