Communication and Reporting Officer - EMPOWER Project is responsible for implementing the communication and visibility plan of EMPOWER Project and preparing timely reports as per the donor's requirements. She/he is responsible for capturing and collecting the impact stories during the project period and developing the communication materials with the collaboration of project team.
Major Responsibilities
- Plan and implement the comms and visibility plan of the EMPOWER Project with technical guidance from the comms department of World Vision Lanka (WVL).
- Producing at least one impact story per month for the project.
- Capturing photos, videos and stories according to donor and WVL standards.
- Working with technical specialists and subject matter experts to prepare appropriate accountability and visibility materials to sensitize the community towards project information and complaints and feedback mechanism
- Prepare timely reports as per agreed timeline Coordinate with MEAL coordinator and support to fine tune the reports
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
- At least 3 progressive years of experience in a Communications or Media position or similar responsibilities in the development sector, with evidence showing examples of previous work (articles, social media content, photos, videos etc)
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Development Studies or related field.
- Basic and/or advanced knowledge in photography and/or video storytelling
- Fluency in English and Tamil languages.
