Job Description

The Wathab Generalist Project Officer plans, designs and implements engineering projects within the scope of the ICRC water and habitat assistance objectives with supervision and coaching from the water and habitat programme manager.  S/he monitors on-site works, carries out needs’ assessments and surveys, and propose, plans, designs, implement and reports new projects. The position coordinates with the local government, detention, health, water districts, other agencies implementing similar projects, and the beneficiaries of the projects and other relevant departments of the ICRC.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management, technical oversight, and supervision of rural water projects (spring protection, small-scale water networks, and solar pumping systems
  • Sanitation: focus on community household sanitation and hygiene promotion
  • Structures: implementation of basic cultural and civil engineering projects, including the construction of rehabilitation of essential infrastructure in health facilities and jails
  • Collaboration with the national society, mobilization of volunteers and engagement with communities in a holistic and team-oriented manner

Qualifications

REQUIRED PROFILE

  • University degree in Civil engineering, electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Has knowledge in hydraulics and architecture
  • Exposed in the awareness of the ICRC mission
  • With technical competencies
  • A team player
  • Knowledge in English, Filipino and other local languages
